I am reflecting on the beauty of winter in all its forms today. The commercialization and focus on Christmas distracts from this day to connect and celebrate the earth and her gifts in winter. I am also pushed to recognize I have to consciously render an “older” version of beauty. The winter of beauty. Youth is depicted by spring and summer. The aged are said to be in the winter of their lives. The maiden morphs into the crone. But somewhere along the way, there is a magical time, embodying both. The triple goddess of maiden-mother-crone is missing a vital archetype-the Queen.

The Queen is the most powerful of the female archetypes. She has gained the wisdom of life experience and she still has quite a bit of fight in her blood. She knows what she wants and what she doesn’t. She’s done raising babies and is now living for herself. She creates with intent and focus.

It’s important for women to evolve into this aspect. If they don’t, they devolve into the stereotypical hag. We all know that bitter old grandmother who is pickled with vinegar in her veins and paints the world in a negative light because the best of her days are behind her. Embodying the Queen ensures you live from a higher perspective and co-create with the voice of your soul. Every day is a joyous gift from this perspective. You recognize you don’t need anyone else’s approval or company. You are whole and complete as your Divine Self.
